Otaika Pickleball Club.


The Club uses Hello Club as member/event management platform. Members shall manage and keep their own information up-to-date within their Hello Club profile.


Nets

Players to raise nets for the play of pickleball, and return to badminton height at the end of the session.


Facility Rules

There is to be no playing on unlit courts.


If you are the last person to leave the facility, you must:

     1. Check that there is no one else in the facility.

     2. Check to ensure that all taps are off and no toilets are running.

     3. Check that the fire doors and windows, including the toilets are closed.

     4. Check that all lights in the kitchen/toilet/lounge area are off, the court lights will turn themselves off.

     5. Arm the alarm my pushing the ‘Arm Alarm’ button as you leave.

     6. Close the gate behind you as you leave the carpark.


If you, or people under your care, damage or incurs un-expected costs to the facility, then you could be liable for associated costs.


The Club provides complimentary Wi-Fi. Please ensure that this is only used for legal purposes and that your choice of entertainment does not offend those around you.


Children

Children must be actively supervised by their parent/caregiver at all times. 

If children are present while their parent/caregiver are playing, then they must remain on the bench behind the court.

Children are not to be allowed to run about the playing hall.

Skateboards, scooters, Heelys and other such equipment are not permitted in the playing hall.


Housekeeping

Food and drink must not be consumed in the playing hall.

We are a zero-waste facility! What you bring you must take. Rubbish bins are only for paper towels and spent shuttles.

If you spill something, please wipe it up.

If you use the kitchen or shower, please clean after use.

Deep fat fryers must not be used in this facility.

Fire exits must be kept clear at all times.

No open flames are allowed withing the facility, with the exception of candles on a birthday cake. 

We are a no smoking/no vaping facility. 


Footwear

Non-marking shoes must be worn at all times in the playing hall.

Absolutely no high heeled type shoes are to be worn in the playing hall.

Muddy/dirty shoes must not be worn in the facility.


Health and Safety

Everybody to take practicable steps to ensure the safety of members, players, and visitors alike. 

Your Responsibility - As with workplaces, the Club has an expectation that members, players and visitors alike will be responsible for their own Health and Safety, both through their actions, and their inactions.

Accidents/Incidents - In the event of an accident or incident, the club requires that an accident/incident form be completed. These can be found in the emergency folder, adjacent to the entry to the changing rooms. If the accident/incident is of a serious nature then you must make contact with one of the emergency Club contacts.

Fist Aid – a first aid kit is provided, however due to the nature of club attendance, we cannot guarantee that there is a First Aid trained person onsite.

Risks – risks associated with the Club are detailed in the risk register section of the emergency folder. In all instances, if a hazard is high risk, contact one of the emergency club contacts. If you find a new hazard, please follow this guidance:

     1. Eliminate the hazard if possible. eg. Mop up any spills.

     2. Isolate the hazard if you can’t eliminate it. Eg. Put furniture around it, turn of the service if something is leaking or worst case, evacuate the facility.

     3. Warn others – use warning signs to warn others of a hazard. Eg. Wet floor signs to indicate residual wetness after mopping.

Fire – in the event of the fire alarm activating, evacuate the building by the nearest exit and assemble at the assembly point at the far end of the carpark. If you discover a fire, ensure that as you exit you warn others by activating the fire alarm call point, adjacent to each exit. The fire alarm is un-monitored, once in a place of safety call 111 and request the Fire Service. Our address is 19 Toetoe Road, Otaika, Whangarei.
